Enjoying a dream Sunday morning in bed with some delicious pancakes soaked in that sweet and sticky maple sauce and suddenly you spill that sauce on your bedsheet. Isn’t that the worst feeling in the world?
Stains can sometimes be very tough to remove, especially if you have white or lighter solid colored bedding and no one ever wants to sleep on those stained bedsheets. So, let’s take you through a detailed guide on how to easily remove those irritating stains from your bedding effortlessly.
Wash Immediately
It is important to immediately wash off the stain as leaving the stain for long will result in making the stain permanent as it will get completely absorbed by the fabric.
Cold water
Make sure you wash your sheets with cold water because washing the stains with hot water will make the stain even more rigid and permanent.
Baking soda
Make a thick paste with baking soda and water, then apply it to the stained area and keep it for around thirty minutes. Wash the bedsheet once the paste becomes dry and soaks up the stain.
Vinegar
Take a tablespoon of white vinegar and mix it in half a cup of water. Then apply this mixture to the stained area and let it sit for some time, after which you can wash the bedsheet. Using vinegar will also help you get rid of any odor present in the bedsheets.
Dish soap
Wash the affected area with some dish detergent, this is especially useful for oil stains as the dish soaps are specially made to fight stubborn oil particles.
Lemon water
This lemon water mixture is an ideal substitute for hydrogen peroxide. So, take a bucket full of water (around 24 cups) and mix in half cup of lemon juice. Dip in the fabric for a while and wash it off with cold water. This is especially useful for darker stains like blood or wine.
Hairspray
If you have accidentally spilled ink on your sheets, then hairspray is here to help you. Spray some hairspray on the stained area and let it sit for approximately thirty minutes. Then rinse off with cold water.
Rubbing alcohol
Gently dab the affected area with rubbing alcohol until the stain disappears, then wash it with cold water.
Never use bleach
Avoid using bleach for your bedsheets as bleach contains very harsh and harmful chemicals that can damage your delicate sheets completely.
